Grow Guide - Sweet Pepper

How To Start: Sow pepper seeds in moist, well-draining compost. They need warmth to germinate and you should see seedlings appear in 7-14 days. 

Temperature: Between 18-25℃ at all times (germination, growth)

Light: Pepper plants thrive with at least 12 hours of light per day, ideally a 12 to 16-hour photoperiod with 8 to 12 hours of darkness.

12 to 14 hours per day are recommended for growing indoors using our Pianta grow light.

Watering & Care: Slow growers until the summer, so water once a week until the hot summer then water twice a day if needed. Peppers like warm and humid environments so grow on in a greenhouse in a sunny spot.

Fertiliser: High potash tomato fertiliser

Pests: Aphids, greenfly - remove with a soapy water solution

Height: Up to 3 metres

Time Of Growth: Between 60-120 days from sowing to ripe fruit

How To Use: Ideal in curries, salads and any dish to add flavour.
