Browning Leaves?

Don't Panic!

We’ve all been there. You walk over to your favourite Monstera or Alocasia, and you see it: a brown edge. Browning is a natural part of plant life. Just like humans shed hair, plants eventually retire their older leaves to make room for new, vibrant growth.

If the browning is happening on the lower, older leaves, congratulations! Your plant is simply focusing its energy on the future.

However, if the browning is widespread, it’s your plant’s way of "talking" to you. Here is a guide on what those brown spots might be saying.

Solution

Crispy, Brown Edges

Usually a sign of low humidity or underwatering. Your plant is thirsty!

Increase humidity with a pebble tray or humidifier. Water consistently, don't let the soil go bone-dry for too long.

Dark, Mushy Brown Spots

Often a sign of overwatering or poor drainage.

Check for root health or pests. Ensure the plant has enough light energy to support its foliage

Small, Scattered Brown Spots

Could be a sign of pests or a fungal issue.

Rinse the leaves down with a gentle stream of lukewarm water

Browning only at the very top

This is often "Light Burn", the light might be a bit too close!

The light is too intense at this range. Move your grow light further away or reduce the time.

Oldest leaves browning?

No action needed! This is a natural growth cycle. Feel free to prune for aesthetics once the leaf is fully dry. If your plant is still pushing out healthy new leaves, you’re doing a great job.

Whether your plant is recovering from a rough patch or just needs more fuel to push out fresh growth, our grow lights provide the consistent energy they need to stay vibrant and green.
