We recommend setting up the Pianta between 25cm and 90cm from your plants. However, the optimal distance depends on the type of plants you're growing and how much natural light they already receive.

Your plants will give you feedback, if they are growing slowly the Pianta can be positioned closer to give them more light, however we recommend keeping an eye on them if you do, curling leaves and darker patches are signs of too much light when the Pianta is kept very close.

How to Initially position your Pianta

For low-light tolerant plants

  • Recommended initial distance: 60cm-90cm
  • Grow area diameter: 60cm-100cm

Suitable for plants such as:

For medium and high-light plants

  • Recommended initial distance: 25cm-60cm
  • Grow area diameter: 25cm-70cm

💡Tip: Avoid starting closer than 30cm when first setting up, to make sure your plants don't get too much light, you can always adjust after a few days.
