For low light tolerant plants the recommended initial distance and grow area:

For plants such as ZZ plant, Devils ivy, Philodendron, Yuka Palm and Peace Lilies.

Your plants will give you feedback, if they are growing slowly the Pianta can be positioned closer to give them more light, however we recommend keeping an eye on them if you do, curling leaves and darker patches are signs of too much light when the Pianta is kept very close.

For medium and high light plants the recommended initial distance and grow area:

For plants such as Herbs, Banana, Chilli Peppers, Tomatoes, Orchids, Ficus, Cacti and Citrus plants.
